A warm welcome to you, dear reader. I’m Islington London, that someone quietly reading a book on a bench in Islington Green, jogging by Regent’s Canal, wandering into artisan stores and workshops or having a pint at the Narrowboat. I hope you will enjoy The Islington Storyteller blog and newsletter!
What started as a fun side-hustle during pandemic lockdowns, quickly grew into a community of residents, local entrepreneurs, restauranteurs, artists and students, all united through sharing what we love about our neighbourhood lives.

Throughout the year and a half after starting the curation of @islington_london, I had met and chatted with dozens of locals, each of whom had their own unique story to tell. It seemed sad to me that very few people had the opportunity to discover the multitude of hidden gems that our neighbourhood is so lucky to have. For this reason, it felt only natural to create a space for sharing special things about Islington and nearby areas.
Alongside @islington_london, The Islington Storyteller explores some of the most unique stories about our neighbourhood. Here you can find interviews, history highlights, ‘What’s On’ guides, new places to visit, food to try and much more.
Check out the blog theme sections (click on the section title and enjoy)!

Meet the storytellers
The initiative is powered by a diverse team of committed contributors – from published authors and food critics to students, filmmakers and local entrepreneurs! All of us are united by a mission to share our exploration of the neighbourhood with fellow Islington lovers.
I am always open to new ideas, feedback and article contributions.
